In April and May 2021, I went on board the rescue ship Ocean Viking to follow the operations of SOS Mediterranee in Central Mediterranean. I produced the following documentary on what happened during those rescues that take place daily at the borders of Europe.
On April 21st, 2021, the Search & Rescue team aboard the Ocean Viking raced through a storm to try and save some 130 people on a dinghy boat who had called for help numerous times, to no avail. My report for The Guardian:
