About me

Hello,

I’m a freelance journalist living in Kyiv, Ukraine, and working as a correspondent mainly for Ouest-France, RFI and France24. I report for TV, radio and print in English, French, German and Spanish.

Since February 2022, I have reported on Russia’s war against Ukraine from most regions affected, documenting the fate of refugees, internally displaced people, victims of Russian occupation, and witnessing the aftermath of occupation, in Kyiv region, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Mykolayiv, Odesa and Kherson Oblasts.

Prior to Ukraine, I worked as a producer, reporter and political correspondent for Deutsche Welle, and as Germany correspondent for France24.

I reported extensively on migration in Europe, from Calais, Lesbos, Germany, the Polish-Belarusian border, and with a focus on the Central Mediterranean Sea where I spent several weeks following sea rescue operations and aerial surveillance operations from NGOs, and where I could witness breaches of international and maritime law.

I hold degrees in Early Modern History, European History, Irish History, Litterature and International Humanitarian Law, and have also studied towards a PhD in Early Modern History when I moved to Germany in 2010. After 13 years spent in Berlin, I decided to relocate and moved to Kyiv, Ukraine.

I am currently learning Ukrainian and looking forward to update this page with “After an extensive learning period, I’m finally fluent in Ukrainian”.
